19th Judicial District Courthouse
All-Star Electric's primary goal and scope of work consisted of
bringing the design teams intricate vision of a state of the art courthouse
from paper to reality. The scope of work was simple, provide a quality
electrical installation for the 19th Judicial District Courthouse. The
installed electrical work highlights and provides the finishing touches to
the design teams vision for the concrete and steel framed high-rise
building. The new 360,000 square foot courthouse will provide a safe and
functional building for the staff, Sheriff's Office, District Attorney,
Judges and public.
All Star Electric provided the electrical work
that accented the large volume of millwork, glass curtain walls, precast,
aluminium cornice systems and symmetrical building features in 910 calendar
days.
We provided all energy star compliant lighting, Lighting
Control system, 5000a dual fed service, two 750k pad mount transformers and
an 800kw emergency power generation system. The completely assembled
generator set was 13' 10 1/2" high x 24' long and was installed thru a 13'
long opening and a vault that provided only 14' of vertical clearance once
the generator pad was poured.
Vertical power distribution was
accomplished by a system of 1000A and 5000A copper bus way systems provided
and installed by All Star Electric.
Additional items provided and
installed by All Star Electric to enhance safety were the Fire Alarm System,
Access Control system, Closed Circuit Television System, Intercom Systems,
Metal Detectors and X-Ray Equipment.
All Star Electric was
responsible for coordinating the entire Audio/Visual Systems installation as
well as the installation of all raceways required for Audio Visual Systems
installation.
Improved functionality was provided to the courthouse
staff by the installation of the horizontal data and voice cabling. All Star
Electric provided and installed a 50kvz UPS system to provide redundant
emergency power and to assist in protecting the sensitive information
contained on the courthouse servers.
All Star Electric also provided
site and exterior lighting that enhances the buildings exterior. The site
poles continued the symmetrical theme by each pole having varying lengths to
provide a symmetrical line of fixture banding to match the horizontal lines
located on the window mullions.
The 19th Judicial Courthouse is a
State of the Art Courthouse designed to meet the needs of the Metro Baton
Rouge Area for the next 30 years. The new Courthouse building the "Justice
to the people." The need for the courthouse was accelerated die to Baton
Rouge's population explosion after Hurricane Katrina. The current population
level was expected in 2020, not 2010. The new courthouse will be providing a
state of the art secure building to a population 10 years before the
population was expected to reach it's current levels..
