03/15/2011 - Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Louisiana to open in September

The construction of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) has reached final stages with the hospital planning to open the facility in September 2011. The Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center construction project was launched in 2009. The project involved construction of the 49,000 square feet Houma Center that will offers services for oncology, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgical interventions, inpatient-care facility, community-outreach services and facilities for clinical-research trials. The total outlay of the project is $14.8 million.

Todd Trosclair, All Star Electric’s CEO, received the award Feb. 22 during the 21st annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Orlando, Fla.

01/03/2011 - All Star Electric contracted to repair New Orleans Street Lights

Lighted streets in near future
But some areas not quite out of dark yet

Ever since New Orleans ran out of money to fix broken street lights and replace burned-out bulbs two months ago, residents of neighborhoods with lots of dark streets have been waiting eagerly for 2011, when the start of a new budget year meant work could resume.

He said he expects to repair 16,000 of the city's 55,000 street lights in 2011, not counting the 5,000 lights due for upgrading to the new technology.
