Hurricane Katrina Memorial
As part of our philosophy of giving back to the
community, All Star Electric, Inc. donated electrical services to the
construction of a monument honoring the victims of Hurricane Katrina and its
aftermath. The monument is located in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans and
pays homage to the victims of the tragic storm that hit the Gulf Coast on
August 29, 2005.
Relay for Life
Our controller, Connie Boudreaux is on the Relay for Life team in St. John
the Baptist Parish. Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society's signature
event, is held annually to raise money to fight cancer, raise awareness
about cancer, celebrate the victory of those who beat the disease and pay
tribute to those who did not.
Through Relay for Life, businesses, schools, civic groups,
families and individuals form teams and raise money for the American Cancer
Society. On the night of the event, teams walk or run around a track. Teams
usually select a theme and decorate their assigned area. Food, music and
sports activities are among the activities planned.
Christian Motorcyclists Association
One
of our Project Managers, Carl McMurray, is actively involved with the
Christian Motorcyclists Association. All Star Electric, Inc. contributes
annually to this organization.

our CEO, has been actively involved with Operation Mainstream in St. John

Strides for
Breast Cancer
A group of All Star Electric employees have
combined their personal

donations to Strides for Breast Cancer along with a
company donation and will walk together at the annual event every October in
Metairie, LA. They represent the company by wearing All Star visors.
When Todd Trosclair, CEO of All Star Electric,
found out what the ladies were doing, he offered to make a company match to
the personal donations that had already been collected. The Pink Stars will
be out again next year and plan to start early with their donation drive.
During the month of October, thousands of Americans across the country join
together to share their passion for ending breast cancer and to give hope to
those facing it. Raising awareness of the disease is one of the main goals
of the American Cancer Society. On October 11, 2008, the ACS hosted their
annual “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in Metairie, LA. All Star
Electric, Inc. joined the thousands of supporters early Saturday morning on
Lakeshore Drive for a beautiful stroll along Lake Ponchatrain. The 3.1 mile
walk was a non-competitive event that raised over $80,000.
